Product detailed description

It lies north of Pauillac and was built in 1825 by a certain Urbain Pédesclaux, a wine merchant. It is now owned by the Lorenzetti family (who also own Chateau Lilian Ladouys). They bought it in 2009 and have made radical changes in technology but also in architecture. They are now working on the transition to biodynamic farming.

Soil: Garonne gravels on limestone bedrock

Vineyard area: 49 ha

Planted: 8 500 to 10 000 heads/ha

2018 was the hottest year since 1900. Sunlight was 20% higher than normal (July to September) and rainfall was 50% lower.

Maturing: 16 months in oak barrels, 60% of which were new

Characteristics: complexity, depth, sensuality, freshness and tension.
